Any footholds or toeholds deeper than 10mm within the 900mm non-climb zone are considered non-compliant and works must be completed to get your pool fence to a compliant standard.
Suggested solutions to rid your pool fence or pool barrier of these surface projections and indentations include utilising non-climbable products to shield the non-conformity area which includes products such as Perspex, aluminium sheeting, pressed steel mesh where the openings are no greater than 13mm x 13mm. Alternatively, surface projects can be removed permanently.
Both suggested solutions could be used to solve this issue however it must be noted any materials or works undertaken must not compromise the strength and rigidity requirements.
